These are some of my paintings related to Indian traditions, festivals or culture in general.
The style here is closely reminiscent of the traditional Indian miniatures as it is best suited for capturing the ethos of such subject matter. But my works are not blind copies of the old masters. In fact I enjoy experimenting with themes, colours, compositions and perspective to make them suitable for my purpose.

Thus in my miniatures I may use the warm, earthy and luminiscent color scheme of the Ajanta-cave-paintings or render a contemporary object of every-day use if need be.
In the end, my painting should retain the Indianness, the richness of tradition, the refinement and yet be able to offer something refreshingly original to my contemporary viewers.
Some of these paintings were lent to the well known social organisations in india for reproducing on greeting-cards as their fund-raising programme.
Most of these works are done in Acrylics on paper.
