Mumbai born Artist Arundhati Vartak’s name has almost become synonymous with Tree-Paintings in India.
Her solo show (From September 1999 to Feb 2000), Sponsored by the famed Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation (Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, U.S.A.) was a grand success in every possible sense.
Many international publications like “The ASBA” (American Society of Botanical Artists, NY); “The Artist” (London, UK); “Contemporary Botanical Artists,” “The Shirley Sherwood Collection” (London in collaboration with the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew) and “The Art India News Magazine” have written about her Tree-Paintings.
Arundhati Vartak’s tree paintings form sizable portion of over 60 designs that she has lent for cards and calendars by various social organizations in India. Her paintings present the Indian trees in their full glory. Her style is inspired by traditional miniature paintings.
